Old Mill Park

One of the best swimming beaches on the lake, on the old lumber-mill site. Dock, grass, easy parking.

Memory Island Provincial Park

A tiny treed islet about a 1 km paddle out. Picnic, swim, paddle back for a float.

West Shawnigan Lake Park

Quieter west-shore beach and boat launch when the village side is busy.

Shawnigan Lake Marina

Kayak, paddleboard & boat rentals, plus a bite and a browse.

Old Baldy Mountain

The peak out our front window — a roughly 3.4 km loop with big lake views, about 1.5 hrs.

Kinsol Trestle

One of the world's tallest free-standing wooden rail trestles, on the Cowichan Valley Trail. Flat, stroller-easy.

Spectacle Lake Provincial Park

Easy lake-loop trail and a swim, a short drive toward the Malahat.
